The LZS-003-HS press brake guarding system offers a highly effective solution for both operator safety and machine productivity. The LZS-003-HS system is Category 4 compliant and meets the world’s most demanding international safety standards.

The LZS-003-HS features a laser transmitter and receiver that are mounted on the upper beam of the press. Two continuous parallel flat-band lasers provide a 40mm protective zone directly below the punch, allowing the operator to remain close to the work piece as the tools close at high speed. If an obstruction is detected, the beam movement is stopped so that the punch cannot make contact with the obstruction.

The dual laser design is suitable for high speed press brakes with a fast closing speed of >150mm/s. As the tools close the bottom laser is muted just above the work piece triggering a deceleration of the machine to pressing speed while the top laser continues to provide protection until the tools enter the bending phase of the stroke.

Features

 N/A Automatic Mute Point Set-up
The 6mm mute point set-up is automatically initiated on the first cycle. The laser detects the material surface and the operator is prompted to confirm the mute point via the LCD Operator Panel. The LZS-003-HS automatically monitors the mute position and detects changes in tool size and material thickness.

LCD Operator Panel
The intelligent LCD operator control with on-screen instructions and easy to read messages makes the system simple to operate. A magnetic backing allows the panel to be easily moved on the front of the machine.

Laser Transmitter (TX)
The TX emits a CLASS 1 dual laser below the punch and provides a protective zone in front, below and rear of the tool tip. As the tools close in high speed the lasers are progressively muted while machine deceleration and speed is monitored. The system provides optical protection until the tool opening is 6mm and travel is reduced to bending speed. This allows for maximum high speed travel for faster cycle times and increased productivity.

Advanced Monitoring functions
Encoder feedback provides continuous closed loop automatic monitoring of the speed and stopping distance (overrun) of the pressing beam.

Close Proximity Operation
The LZS-003-HS enables the operator unrestricted access to the tooling area. The operator can hold the work piece as close as 20mm from the tool area and operate the machine safely in high speed. This increases productivity and reduces operator fatigue – no more stepping in and out of the tool area as with traditional light curtains.

Adjustable Linear BracketsThe TX and RX can be quickly moved and locked clear during tool change, are very easily adjusted and highly tolerant to machine vibration.

Laser Receiver (RX)
The RX features a wide reception zone to eliminate the need for precise manual adjustment after tool change and is also highly tolerant to machine vibration.
